6 SPECTACULAR WATER FEATURES

There is something very relaxing about the sound of water trickling in the background. It’s possibly just our basic human need for water that makes us feel comforted knowing that it’s in close proximity but there is certainly a surge in popularity for water features with many new homes incorporating one. The design options are endless from small ponds, to monumental water features. Here are 6 of our favourites

A backlit fused glass panel by Perth glass artisans  -TSG Artists in Glass highlights the water bubblers by a window  with stunning effect in this award winning residence by Perth’s Spadaccini Homes. The custom designed, hand-made glass panels are created by firing pieces of glass at high temperatures so that they merge together in fluid abstract patterns creating ‘near unbreakable’ original works of art.

This water feature by Sydney’s award winning Rolling Stone Landscapes is located in an internal courtyard that is visible from a number of rooms within the home has been designed to seemingly bring the outdoors in.  A contemporary design of stainless steel water outlets set into masonry blade walls empty into large pond with tiled surround.

The owners of this five acre Sydney estate had an unused horse arena they wanted landscaped. The brief for Sydney’s award winning Rolling Stone Landscapes was to create an area that blended seamlessly with the already detailed and established gardens. Not only was this achieved but an element of the arenas past was worked into the design via a life size stallion cast from bronze that sits majestically on top of the three tiered water feature.

Facing an extensive outdoor entertaining area under stone covered pavilion  this custom made water feature by Sydney’s Rolling Stone Landscapes has been built into the stone retaining wall above the azure pool. Black spouts create a contrast against the light stone  and the flowing water adds both movement and interest.

A white stone clad wall forms the perfect backdrop for this simple, yet elegant backyard water feature by Rolling Stone Landscapes. Stainless steel channels strategically positioned on the wall, guide the water to gracefully cascade down the wall into the pool providing a focal point for the rear entertaining area.

Designed by Rolling Stone Landscapes to showcase the outdoor lifestyle of our Australian culture this spectacular water feature took out the London Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal. Rolling Stone’s Dean Herald’s signature water feature table was a focal point of this garden. The water feature table is constructed of two inscribed panes of glass, cantilevered from the wall providing a stunning sheet of water which passes beneath your plate and cascades into the pond below.
