Panasonic Introduces New Connected Home System
Samantha Dawson, Product Marketing Manager, Home Automation, Panasonic Australia, said: “The Home Automation market is growing quickly and becoming increasingly important to households. Panasonic has developed a solution that is so simple to set up and then monitor via your smartphone.
“For example, place motion sensors on windows or doors; schedule lights and appliances to turn on and off; and keep watch on specific locations such as your baby’s room or pet’s kennel; or check the car in the garage or driveway.”
The powerful and compact DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications)-enabled hub unit provides a long range (up to 300 metres) platform for all the Connected Home devices which can be placed in any room or space. The hub connects easily to the user’s Wi-Fi routeri. Devices including sensors and cameras can be quickly synced with the system with one push pairing.
The system is extremely expandable and each hub can support a total of 4 cameras including outdoor cameras and indoor cameras, 6 digital cordless handsets and a total of 50 other devices including Smart Plugs, Motion Sensors and Window/Door Sensors. Consumers can choose a preconfigured kit, add individual devices to an existing kit, or build their own system by selecting the desired devices.
Using the free Panasonic Home Automation App, the sensors and cameras can be controlled remotely from up to 8 different smartphones or tablets. Unlike other systems, there is no monthly fee for monitoring, recording and controlling the Panasonic Connected Home System.
Room Monitoring Kit (KX-HN6001)
The do-it-yourself Room Monitoring Kit is designed for every home dweller. It includes a DECT-enabled hub unit and indoor camera for monitoring across devices. The camera can send notifications in three ways; when the microphone detects sound, when the camera’s ambient temperature is too hot or too cold, or when the camera’s visual sensor detects motion.
This kit is perfect for use as a baby monitor to keep an active eye on your child in their cot or room. Day or night, you can be assured they are safe and sound, bringing you peace of mind.
Using the camera’s built-in two-way speaker, you can even talk to or remotely enable a musical lullaby, soothing a stirring baby without having to enter the room. This package can also be used to monitor pets when homeowners are away, or keep an eye on elderly family members. Precious items such as luxury vehicles or other valuables can also be monitored.
Home Monitoring Kit (KXHN6002)
The Home Monitoring Kit allows you to monitor the outside area of your home from your smartphone whether you are at home or on the road. It includes a DECT-enabled hub unit with a Micro SD Card and two full-colour outdoor cameras, which feature night vision (up to 12 metre range outdoors) and built-in microphones for two-way communication, live monitoring and recording.
The two Panasonic outdoor cameras can be synced to the system’s hub unit within seconds and mounted discreetly onto any wall, fence or the home itself. When the cameras’ sound or vision motion detectors are activated, an immediate alert will be sent to your smartphone or tablet. In the same instant, motion–activated audio and video are recorded automatically to a high-capacity Micro SD Card in the hub unit. Video can be reviewed remotely from your smartphone, or simply remove the Micro SD Card from the hub unit and insert into your laptop. With the addition of a smart plug, the built in motion detection can also be used to trigger other actions, such as turning on a light.
The Home Monitoring Kit takes full advantage of the DECT technology that allows the system to maintain a clear, secure and long-range signal throughout the home. You can configure, install and control the system yourself. Plus, there’s never a monthly fee to pay.
Home Control Kit (KX-HN6032)
The Control Kit allows you to monitor and control the whole home with any smartphone or tablet, whether you are at home or on the road. The kit includes a DECT-enabled hub unit, four smart plugs, two motion sensors and two window/door sensors, all of which can easily be monitored and controlled with the app on your smartphone and or tablet.
You can use your smartphone or tablet to access smart plugs and turn devices on or off remotely, or create a smart plug schedule to automatically turn lights and appliances on or off, for example turning a light on in the evening. Or, even configure the system to turn on a light or other electric device when your mobile device connects to your wireless router, such as when you return home from outside. Additionally, you can use your mobile device to view a record of a smart plug’s power consumption.
The motion sensors detect motion in the surrounding areas, and the window/door sensors detect when the corresponding window or door is opened. Alongside alerting your smartphone and or tablet, both can also trigger other actions, such as turning on a light.
Home Alert Kit (KX-HN6301)
The Home Alert Kit is perfect for those wanting to cover all bases, with indoor and outdoor monitoring. The kit includes a DECT-enabled hub unit with a Micro SD Card, a full-colour indoor camera, a full-colour outdoor camera, a smart plug, a motion sensor, two window/door sensors and a digital cordless handset.
When any of the connected sensors or cameras are triggered, there are four-way alert notifications: via the hub, camera recording features, calling pre-programmed phone numbers, and receiving notifications on a smartphone, tablet or the cordless handset.
Motion/Window/Door sensor notification
The smartphone app is automatically notified and the hub beeps when a window sensor or motion sensor detects movement. Notifications can be checked when you are inside or outside the home.
Handset talking notification
This feature allows you to get information about a triggered sensor without looking at the display of the smartphone or cordless handset. The handset can announce the location and the name of the sensor, and the type of detection.
